8 days!
We have the rings, we have the marriage license, most of our liturgy is planned, the caterer is waiting for a seating chart... we're almost there.
Keep us in your prayers as we go through the crunch of the final details.
We're starting to add a little more information to the Wedding Events page--namely, rehearsal information and for our Sunday brunch.
Yup, on Sunday, we're inviting everyone over to our place to enjoy breakfast tacos, or whatever else we rummage up. Details are forthcoming, but want everyone to know about it.
With Vanessa now in the midst of her first semester teaching, time to plan the wedding is now very "expensive". There's always a million and one things for her to grade, plan or something else for school. I always had respect for my high school teachers, but it has increased ten-fold in the last six weeks.
I digress. I hope you all are excited about sharing our special day with us. We are just as excited to see you all as we exchange vows and rings, beginning our new life together.
37 Days to Go!
I wanted to give a shout out to Matt Maye. Matt is a friend of ours that we met earlier this year through a discussion of Catholic thought by various young adults in the Austin area. We learned that he moved to Austin to continue a music career.
After listening to some of his tunes and while Vanessa and I were thinking about the reception, we thought yes! Let's put these two things together. Matt will be playing the cocktail hour and a song or two during the dinner/dance portion of the evening.
Check him out!
Marriage preparation is awesome. There are few, if any, things I enjoy more than discussing my future life with Vanessa. Where are we going to live? How are we going to combine finances? How are we going to keep God at the center of our marriage? What are we thinking regarding making more little Vanessas and Krafts? I'm truly excited to talk about the new reality that we'll begin to experience on October 4th.
Wedding planning, on the other hand, is not the most exciting thing. I can't wait for the wedding to be here to celebrate with family, but I truly can't wait to wake up the next day married.
The store gave us a mobile scanner and let us loose. I haven't had this same type of feeling since I was a little kid and the big Toys 'R Us Christmas catalog arrived. Of course, this time around, we were scanning things we would really need or truly like to have as we begin our new lives together. Slightly different than picking out which toy could take my imagination away.
Right now, we're both at the University Catholic Center. Vanessa volunteers as a wedding assistant and is working a rehearsal now. We're going to try to make it by the invitation store afterwards for our second round of invitation selection.
